Praying for my husband
Why keep a prayer journal for your husband
Praying for your husband is one of the kindest things you can do for him, and he may never know how often you do it. Writing your prayers down makes them specific, helps you remember what you asked, and lets you see God at work in his life over months and years.
- It turns worry into prayer. Instead of stewing about his job or his health, you bring it to God.
- It softens your own heart. It is hard to stay angry at someone you pray for every day.
- It builds a record. On hard days in marriage, reading old answered prayers reminds you that God is faithful.
- It can become a gift. Some wives give their husband a copy of their prayers on an anniversary.
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.Ecclesiastes 4:12 KJV

Tips for praying for your husband
- Pray one area per day. Monday faith, Tuesday work, Wednesday health and so on.
- Pray for him, not at him. Your journal is not a list of things you wish he would change. Bring your frustrations to God, then ask God to work in both of you.
- Ask him how to pray. Once a week, ask him what is on his mind. Write it down.
- Keep praying in hard seasons. If your marriage is struggling, keep writing. If you are not safe, reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor or local emergency services.
- Look back on your anniversary. Read your pages from the past year and thank God for what He did.
